About

Skills North West is the region’s biggest skills, jobs and careers event aimed at young people. Ideal for anyone making a move from school or college, or getting ready to start work, Skills North West is the one event that could change your future. With over 60 organisations offering hands on work-based activities visitors are inspired whether they are a young person, a teacher, parent/carer or family.

The event takes place over two days between 9.30am-3pm, when we recommend groups visit in organised and pre-booked timeslots from schools, colleges or other groups. We estimate around 8,000 visitors will visit over the two days. Skills North West also features an evening opening on the first day.  During 5pm and 7pm the event is open to parents and families.  As an important influence in decisions about careers, education and training we encourage families to come along together and talk to employers and recruiters.  Families find this open and informal approach very useful as it gives everyone an opportunity to get impartial advice, and exhibitors enjoy engaging with this hard to reach audience.

Schools, colleges and other groups will be invited from the following areas:

  • Cheshire
  • Cumbria
  • Greater Manchester
  • Lancashire
  • Merseyside
  • Warrington
